This is the oldest cemetery in New Orleans, just on the northern edge of the French Quarter, bounded on three sides by project housing (that may actually still be abandoned after Katrina, even though it didn't seem to suffer much structural damage). This is a view down one of the rows of above-ground crypts, facing east. Just behind me and a little to my right is the grave of Marie Laveaux, New Orleans' famed voodoo priestess.
